Our cabin is located on Jade Lake which is a small quiet lake less than 2 minutes from Big Lake. Enjoy the fun recreation on Big Lake or retreat to the serenity of a cabin on Jade Lake. You can have the best of both worlds!
You can go for a leisurely walk around the lake or take a drive and explore the wonders of the Mat-Su valley. We are within easy driving distance to golf course, restaurants and historic sites.
South Port Marina is only 1½ miles away.
- Big Lake is Alaska’s well known summer and winter playground.
- Summer activities: swimming, boating, jet skiing and fishing.
- Winter activities: snow machine competitions, dog mushing, ATV racing
- The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race passes two miles south of Big Lake.
- Local festivities include the Ice Fishing Derby, Iron Dog Winter Festival, Triathlon, Pirates of Dollar Lake and the popular Big Lake Regatta.
- The Big Lake Ice Classic runs from January to April and is a fund raiser where contestants purchase a ticket and try to guess when the ‘ice breaker’ vehicle will fall into Big Lake due to the ice melting in the spring.
